💕 America’s most romantic wine town

Hi Reader,

Looking for a wine town that’s walkable, full of great wine, and perfect for a couple’s getaway?

Meet Healdsburg.

This Sonoma County spot was once named one of America’s most romantic small towns. And it has more than 30 tasting rooms in just a few blocks. 🍷🚶‍♀️

What I love about Healdsburg is how much variety you can squeeze into one day of tasting.

It sits in the center of three wine regions: Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley.

So, you can start with cool-climate Pinot and Chardonnay, hop over to Italian varieties, and end with a French-style wine and cheese pairing.

Here are a few of my top picks from a recent trip.

🌊 Marine Layer Wines
Cool-climate wine lovers, this one’s for you. Bright, coastal Chardonnay and Pinot Noir poured in a chic, lounge-style space.

🇮🇹 Idlewild Wines
A dream for Italian-variety fans. Nebbiolo, Barbera, Arneis…all made with a nod to Piedmont and a California twist.

🧀 Williamson Wines
A must-visit for food-and-wine pairing fans. Expect French-style wines, unique cheeses, and walking out with a few new recipe ideas.

🍇 Ramey Wine Cellars
For serious Sonoma fans, this is a must. Taste stunning wines from the legend who helped shaped modern California winemaking.

🍷 LIOCO Wines
This is the spot where you sit at the bar, crack jokes with the team, and suddenly realize you’ve made three new friends while sipping great Chardonnay and Pinot.

Whether you’re planning a trip or looking for some new wines to try, I put together a full Healdsburg guide with more tasting rooms and visiting tips.

Cheers,

Laura

Hi Reader, I still remember planning my first real wine trip. I had no idea how many wineries to visit in a day, whether I needed reservations, or if I was about to embarrass myself by confidently mispronouncing something in French. I definitely overthought it. 🤯 Spoiler: it was completely fine. No one quizzed me. No one revoked my wine privileges. And I quickly realized wine travel isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about choosing a place that makes it easy to learn as you go. If you’re...

Hi Reader, After planning a lot of wine trips, a pattern started to jump out at me. The trips that felt relaxed and fun weren’t always the fanciest. They were the ones where the place we stayed actually fit the way we wanted to travel. There isn’t one best place to stay in wine country. It really comes down to how you want the trip to feel. A romantic weekend, a family trip, and a friends getaway all call for very different places to stay, even in the same region. Here’s a breakdown of the...

Hi Reader, Spring might be my favorite season for wine travel. The vineyards are waking up, flowers are in bloom, and many wine regions feel calmer before summer crowds roll in. It’s also one of the best times to visit places that get hot later in the year. 🥵 If you’re planning an April or May trip, these five wine destinations are especially good picks right now. 🌼 Fredericksburg, TexasSpring in Fredericksburg means bluebonnets everywhere, comfortable temps, and wine tasting before the Texas...
